About Us

We are a group of chess enthusiasts from Concord, MA and surrounding communities that meet weekly and welcome anyone with an interest in serious chess play.  Whether you are an advanced player who regularly plays in tournaments or someone who just enjoys a  good  game of chess and wants to improve your play, please drop by to see what we are about.  Each meeting consists of a mixture of open play and instruction from Life Chess Master and teacher, Vadim Martirosov.  Vadim does an excellent job providing both group and individual instruction as well as making his content relevant both to our advanced and beginner players.

We typically have 15-20 members (kids and adults) sign up for each of our 10 week sessions in the fall, winter, and spring.    Members are mostly 4th-12th graders plus a handful of adult members of the community. We even have a few quite skilled 2nd and 3rd graders.  We’d love to build our ranks so feel free to drop in on a session to see what it is like (email info@concordcarlislechess.org for more info)

Tournaments: A great way to have fun with your chess skills. All levels welcome.  We run a few USCF-rated tournaments a year.

Fall USCF tournament will probably be Sunday October 14th, 2018 at Concord-Carlisle High School.  Details coming soon.

One week chess camp in August: The five day chess camp is a great opportunity for participants to receive focused development from our Life Chess Master and teacher, Vadim MartirosovClick here for more information
